Man Stabbed In Liver At Sarasota Apartment Complex

A 28-year-old Sarasota man is accused of stabbing a man in the stomach, leading to a punctured liver.

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 28-year-old man following a weekend stabbing at Beneva Place apartments.

According to the agency, the victim was visiting with a female friend at her apartment in the 3500 block of Queens Street around 4:15 a.m. Feb. 4. The two were sitting on the back porch, when they were approached by Brendan Sheridan, an arrest report states.

Sheridan, who lives at the apartment with the woman, is accused of attacking the man, stabbing him in the stomach and leaving, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheridan was brought into custody on Tuesday with his arrest on aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charges announced Friday morning.

Deputies say the victim had to undergo surgery to repair a punctured liver after the incident.
