Milonga Steakhouse Closed For Repairs

Milonga Argentine Steakhouse on University Avenue is temporarily closed according to its answering machine.

Diners might have noticed an empty parking lot at Milonga Argentine Steakhouse lately, but it's not expected to be empty for long.

The restaurant, located at 3005 University Parkway just west of Lockwood Ridge Road in Manatee County, is temporarily closed for minor repairs, according to a recorded message that plays when patrons call the restaurant.

It's unclear for how long and what specific repairs are needed.

Sarasota Tango Info reported on its blog that the restaurant general manager Santiago Quinn said the restaurant had ceased operations April 15 after the tango group had to cancel an event scheduled for Sunday, May 6:

"Santi said that words could not express his heartfelt gratitude for the support our Tango community had given him, his staff and the restaurant. The current owners are looking to sell the operation, with new owners reopening under a new management structure/ restaurant theme. When that will take place is unknown. In the meantime Santi has returned to Miami to be with family and friends.

Our hope is that new ownership will call upon Santi and his team to bring the new restaurant up to full speed."

The location offered a wide range of selections of appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, seafood, desserts, coffee, grill items, vegetables, and seafood.

The restaurant also offered numerous events and special nights, live music, dancing and more. The Milonga website promotes that a new menu is coming soon.
