Missing ‘Woobie’ Prompts All-Points Bulletin

North Port Police are asking folks to help find a child's missing blanket.

NORTH PORT, FL — The North Port Police Department is lending its might to the search for a missing “woobie” that belongs to a 2-year-old girl. It seems the girl’s zebra blanket disappeared during a recent trick-or-treat event at City Hall.

Understanding that few things can set off a toddler quite like being parted from a favorite toy or blanket, the agency took to Facebook over the weekend to issue an “all-points bulletin.” Officers are asking anyone with information about the woobie’s whereabouts to contact them via social media or phone.

“We’ve all been here,” the agency explained on Facebook. “Please help if you know anything about this case.”

Police were tipped off about the woobie’s disappearance after reading a Facebook post created by the little girl’s dad. Her father explained his little one just “won’t sleep” without her blanket and that she’s quite devastated by the loss.

Patch reached out to the police department on Monday and learned the woobie has still not been found. Anyone who happens to know its whereabouts is asked to call Josh Taylor, public information officer, at 941-429-7333. The agency is also taking tips in the case via its Facebook page.
