SARASOTA, FL — They held our hands when we took our first steps, introduced us to our favorite foods and made our boo-boos all better. Sunday is Mother's Day and its time to say thank you for all of the wonderful things our moms have done for us throughout the years.

Patch brings you our annual roundup of Sarasota, Bradenton and Lakeland area restaurants that are rolling out the red carpet to make mom feel extra special on her big weekend.

Treat mom to coastal cuisine this Mother’s Day at Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club. Eliza Ann’s Coastal Kitchen will be featuring its fabulous dinner menu and offering moms a complimentary glass of house wine, beer or bubbly with the purchase of a dinner entrée on Mother’s Day. Reservations are recommended by calling (941) 238-6264 or through OpenTable. The resort is located at 5325 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach.

Treat mom to a special holiday brunch buffet or chef-created dinner menu this Mother's Day. Brunch will be available between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (final brunch seating is at 2 p.m.) Adults $34.95 plus tax plus gratuity Children $14.95 plus tax plus gratuity. Dinner menu items include fan favorites such as ahi tuna nachos, scallop Benedict, filet mignon, black grouper Oscar, pecan pie, cheesecake, icebox cake and much more. Dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and for your convenience, guests can book online or call 941.893.4321.

Mattison’s Restaurants

All three Mattison’s Restaurants will be serving a Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 12th. Mattison’s Forty-One in South Sarasota and Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille in Bradenton will be offering a Brunch Buffet while Mattison’s City Grille, Downtown Sarasota will be offering plated al a carte brunch and dinner. Reservations are encouraged.

  • Mattison’s Forty-One is located at 7275 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. Call 941-921-3400. Brunch Buffet will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Al a Carte Dinner Service will be served from 4 to 8 for $39.95 per person. The brunch buffet will include two carving stations featuring Niman Ranch, slow-cooked Prime Rib and Niman Ranch maple glazed Ham, a crepe station, made to order omelets, artisan cheeses, stuffed French toast, FreeBird Farm Chicken Cordon Blue with a Mornay sauce and fish entrees including salmon with maple browned buttered apples, specialty salads, fresh seasonal vegetables, house cured bacon, sausage biscuits and gravy, and an amazing 30 foot long wall of house made pastries, breakfast breads, desserts and more.
  • Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille is located at 101 Riverfront Blvd. in Bradenton; Tel: 941-896-9660. The Brunch Buffet will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $32.95 per person; kids $15.95. Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille, Downtown Bradenton’s Brunch Buffet will feature a made to order omelet station, carved honey bourbon baked ham and oven roasted Niman Ranch Brisket, assorted sushi, fresh garden salad bar, grilled lemon pepper FreeBird Farms chicken, blackened Salmon, Spinach Ravioli, Niman Ranch bacon and sausage, home fries, stuffed French toast and fresh baked pastries.
  • Mattison’s City Grille is located at 1 N. Lemon Avenue Downtown Sarasota; Tel: 941-330-0440. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner will be available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mattison’s City Grille, Downtown Sarasota’s Brunch menu and Dinner Al a Carte offer a variety of options. Specials will feature Niman Ranch, slow-cooked, herb-crusted Prime Rib with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus with a Ju and grilled Swordfish with charred tri-color cauliflower and a citrus Beurre Blanc and roasted fingerling sweet potatoes. Brunch and Dinner menus include Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, FreeBird Farms Chicken Saltimbocca, New Zealand Rack of Lamb, Niman Ranch Pork Ribeye, an array of specialty salads and starters and much more.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar (various locations)

Applebee's restaurants throughout Florida are inviting families and friends to their local Applebee’s to celebrate Moms. The perfect place to celebrate, guests who purchase a $50 Applebee’s Gift Card to give a loved one will receive a $10 bonus card (bonus cards expire Aug. 11). On Sunday, May 12, moms can enjoy their favorite bottle of wine for half the price exclusively on Mother’s Day. Whether she loves white, red, or rose it will be the perfect treat on her special day.
