Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash Near Venice Walmart: FHP

An SUV leaving a Walmart parking lot in the Venice area turned into the path of a motorcyclist, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

VENICE, FL — A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday afternoon after being hit by an SUV leaving the Walmart parking lot at Jacaranda Boulevard and U.S. 41, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The SUV, driven by an 88-year-old Englewood man, turned left out of the parking lot directly into the motorcyclist’s path around 3 p.m.

The motorcyclist was brought to an area hospital with critical injuries, FHP said.

The SUV’s driver and his passenger, an 83-year-old Englewood woman, were uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
