Farmers Market-Inspired Grocery Chain Sets Opening Date For New Sarasota County Store

VENICE, FL — Sprouts Farmers Market, a national grocery chain known for selling fresh, natural and organic food, has set the opening date for a new store in Sarasota County.

The specialty retailer’s store at 1120 Jacaranda Blvd. in Venice will start welcoming shoppers on Nov. 14. More details about the grand opening celebration will be available closer to the opening date.

This new Venice location will bring 93 full- and part-time jobs to the area, the company said in a news release. Positions include department managers and other store leaders, cashiers and self-checkout hosts, courtesy clerks, receivers, schematics coordinators, and sales ambassadors.

In-person hiring events will take place at the Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Ave., on Sept. 30, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Oct. 1, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No interviews will be scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on both days.

Candidates may apply online in advance of the in-person events. Walk-in applicants are also welcome.

The brand offers shoppers a farmers market experience and an open layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store, the news release said.

Its Florida stores features produce grown locally by family-run farms, including Alderman Farms, Always Fresh Farms, BBI Produce, Brooks Tropicals, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Grimes Produce Company, H&A Farms, J&C Tropicals, Jim Rash Inc. and Noble Citrus, according to the Sprouts website.

It also offers a range of organic, gluten-free, plant-based and non-GMO products.

The company was named Progressive Grocer’s Retailer of the Year.

Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts employs about 35,000 team members and operates more than 450 stores in 24 states nationwide.
