North Sarasota Man Charged with Attempted Murder

A North Sarasota man is facing an attempted murder charge after stabbing his girlfriend.
Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested Raymond Lewis, 47, Tuesday after receiving a call that a woman was being attacked with a knife in the 2600 block of 22nd St.
Deputies found Rhonda Calahan at about 3 p.m. with knife wounds and transported her via helicopter to BayFront Medical Hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening, according to the sheriff's office.

Following a search for Lewis, he was detained and interviewed and booked into jail without bond, according to the sheriff's office booking report.
