North Sarasota Shooting Leads to 2 Arrests
Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested Trae Ward, 20, and Jeremy Ward, 15, both of 2407 Booker Ave., Sarasota on weapons charges.

Two brothers are facing felony charges following a shooting Friday evening in North Sarasota.
arrested Trae Ward, 20, and Jeremy Ward, 15, both of 2407 Booker Ave., Sarasota on weapons charges. Trae Ward is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammo by a convicted felon. Jeremy Ward is charged for aggravated assault with a firearm.
Deputies responded to the 3100-block of Martin Luther King Blvd, at 5 p.m. for a shooting, but no one was injured, according the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Section found Trae Ward at his home while Jeremy Ward turned himself to law enforcement at another location hours after the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.
The SWAT team also secured a perimeter around the home, searching inside, and didn’t find anyone else.

Trae Ward's bond was set at $10,000 — $5,000 for each charge, according to the sheriff's office website.
