Why did you start your blog?
The local Patch sites have an extremely local feel, and I am always looking for news and new places to go that are nearby. I love being able to share my experiences with the community and giving people tips and places to go.
How has your blog evolved over time?
I am a new mom and stay at home with my baby. This time has really given me the opportunity to cook and bake more, which I’ve always loved to do but could never make the time. I’m always trying out new recipes and adapting them to make them my own. I also love going to restaurants to try new dishes, flavors and, of course, dessert.
When do you find time to write?
I have to set aside time, otherwise, I never find it. I usually write in the afternoons and always have a cup of cappuccino to keep me motivated.
What have you learned from your own blog?
You should always try new things—whether it is blogging, creating recipes or trying something new at a restaurant—you’re never too old to do something new.
You blog a lot about food, which means you have a lot of nice meals. How do you try to work off those great desserts?
I usually go running 3-4 times a week.
What is the most underrated dish in Sarasota?
A perfectly grilled steak (I always get the NY strip) at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and the grilled cheese at Eat Here – it’s the perfect comfort food.
