Pedestrian Hit By Car, Killed While Crossing Bee Ridge Road: FL Highway Patrol
A Sarasota man crossing Bee Ridge Road was hit by a car and died, Florida Highway Patrol said.
SARASOTA, FL — A 76-year-old Sarasota man was killed while crossing Bee Ridge Road Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
He was walking across the road’s eastbound lanes from south to north when he was hit by a car traveling east in the left lane, east of Riviera Drive, around 7 a.m.
After the crash, the car came to a controlled stop in the continuous left turn lane on Bee Ridge Road, facing east, FHP said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Sarasota County EMS.
The car’s driver, a 19-year-old Sarasota man, was uninjured in the crash.
