UPDATE: Homeless Woman Killed On Tamiami Trail

Sarasota Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality on Tamiami Trail that happened late Wednesday night.

Police responded at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday for a pedestrian hit by a car on the 1800 block of North Tamiami Trail where they found Devon Marie McGann, 27, according to the . 

McGann was homeless, according to police, and she was trying to cross the northbound lanes before she was hit.

The crash closed northbound Tamiami Trail for about three hours for the investigation, according to police.
