Pineapple Park Feedback Sought At Farmers Market
The City of Sarasota is seeking input about its master plan for Pineapple Park and Lemon Avenue Streetscape.
SARASOTA, FL – Guests of the upcoming Farmers Market in Sarasota can find a variety of fresh food and fresh ideas of how to improve the downtown area.
Two preliminary proposals for the development of a master plan for Pineapple Park and Lemon Avenue Streetscape will be on display and available for the community to review and comment during the Farmers Market on Saturday, Aril 29. The display will be set up near Pineapple Park, 135 S. Pineapple Ave., from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The master plan will include possible enhancements to the park fountain and streetscaping along Lemon Avenue from Main Street to Pineapple Avenue.

“Two large renderings will be on display and the community will be encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts,” said Todd Kucharski, the Publix Works general manager and this project’s manager. “We’d like to hear form visitors to the park on what they believe would enhance their experience.”
Kucharski, along with David Conner, the landscape architect for the master planning process, will attend the Farmers Market event to listen and respond to questions and comments.

One concept maintains the existing public art and fountain in Pineapple Park, while the other option offers a modification for an improved sense of place within the park parcel, Lemon Avenue and the surrounding area that has grown and changed over the past 20 years.
With the opening of the State Street Garage and construction underway for The Mark nearby, reactivation of Pineapple Park is expected as residents and visitors seek healthy outdoor activities in an urban setting, according to the City of Sarasota.
