Sarasota Hit-And-Run: Video Released

The Sarasota Police Department is asking for help identifying a motorist involved in a hit-and-run crash.

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department is asking for residents’ help to identify a motorist involved in a hit-and-run crash that left another person injured.

According to the agency, the crash happened around 4:50 a.m. on May 7 as a vehicle was heading northbound on South Tamiami Trail. The vehicle took a westbound turn onto Bay Road and went into the path of another motorist. The two vehicles collided, but the motorist who made the turn took off from the scene, the police department said.

The driver of the other vehicle, who is not being identified by authorities, suffered injuries in the crash. Police say the injuries are not life threatening.

The vehicle officers are looking for is believed to be a white GMC Terrain made between 2010 and 2016. It suffered damage on the passenger side rear door, an email from the police department said.
