Sarasota Man, 27, Charged In April Hit-And-Run
Sarasota Police have announced an arrest in an April hit-and-run that left a pedestrian critically injured.

SARASOTA, FL — After months of investigation, the Sarasota Police Department has announced the arrest of a man in connection with an April hit-and-run that left a person critically injured.
Police say Devon Watts was behind the wheel of the white Chevrolet Silverado that hit Ryan Wear near the intersection of North Pineapple Avenue and First Street around 2 a.m. April 11. Watts’ arrest on a leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury charge was announced Monday, Aug. 14.

Wear was taken to a local hospital following the crash as a trauma alert. Police on Monday said the Sarasota man continues to recover from his injuries.
