Sarasota Man, 33, Found Dead In Backyard

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 33-year-old man who was found dead in a woman’s backyard late Thursday night.

According to the agency, a woman who lives in the area of Leonard Reid Avenue and 32nd Street found the dead male in her yard round 10 p.m. May 18 and called authorities.

The man was identified after the investigation began as Alfa Victor Young of Sarasota. Authorities say it appears that Young died of “homicidal violence,” but are not releasing the preliminary cause of death at this time.

Anyone with information about Young’s death is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 941-861-4900.

Further information is not being released at this time. It is unclear if the woman knew Young.
