Sarasota Man, 74, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on State Road 72 Monday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Goran L. Rosendahl, 74, was heading east on State Road 72 in a GMC Envoy around 5:21 p.m. Aug. 14. As Rosendahl drove east of Hi Hat Ranch Boulevard, troopers say his Envoy went off the road.

Rosendahl “over-corrected,” sending his vehicle into a counterclockwise spin across the east and westbound lanes, a highway patrol report said. The vehicle ultimately hit a ditch, overturned and then struck a fence before coming to a stop.

Rosendahl, the agency reported, was ejected from the Envoy when it overturned. He died at the scene.
