Sarasota Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Porn: Deputies

SARASOTA, FL - A 48-year-old Sarasota man was arrested Thursday for possession of child pornography, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said. The man was identified as Charles Gilbert Parsons, who is charged with 40 felony counts of possession: sexual performance by a child, deputies said.

The investigation began Monday when a thumb-drive was turned into deputies and a report was made about the thumb-drive possibly having illegal content on it. Detectives obtained a search warrant and submitted the thumb-drive to the sheriff’s digital forensics lab for further examination.

The thumb-drive revealed a total of 2,076 images and 40 videos depicting child pornography.

Parsons remains at the Sarasota County Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, deputies said.
