Sarasota Memorial Day Parade 2017: Street Closings
Sarasota motorists will want to steer clear of a few streets on Memorial Day Monday to make way for the 2017 parade.

SARASOTA, FL — As Sarasota prepares to recognize Memorial Day with the annual parade, the police department has announced several street closings meant to make way for the celebration.
The parade is set to step off at Main Street and Osprey Avenue on May 29 at 10 a.m. To make sure the roads are ready, the following street closings have been announced:
- 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Gulfstream Avenue from Cocoanut Avenue to McAnsh Square.
- 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Main Street from Links Avenue to Gulfstream
- 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Links Avenue from First Street to Ringling
- 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Osprey Avenue from First Street to Ringling
According to the police department, all vehicles must be removed by the stated closing time. Those not removed will be towed at owners’ expense. If a vehicle is towed, contact Upman’s Towing at 941-365-7084 for more information.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Main and Osprey and will follow a path to the Rev. J.D. Hamel Park at Main and Gulfstream. A ceremony is planned at the park when the parade concludes around 11 a.m.
