Sarasota Property Tax Drive-Thru Discount Dates

SARASOTA, FL — With the season of giving upon us, the Sarasota County tax collector wants to give you a 4 percent discount on your property taxes. You don't even have to get out of your car.

"To better serve our customers who like to hand deliver their payment, the annual property tax drive-thru service will be available two days this year," explained Sarasota Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates.

You can hit the special property tax drive-thru on Nov. 26 and Nov. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at three locations but two of them accept only checks.

"At the Mid-County Office, 6100 Sawyer Loop Road, all forms of payments are accepted in the drive-thru lane," said Ford-Coates.

The Terrace Building in downtown Sarasota and the Anderson Administration Building in Venice only accept checks.

Unlike those other drive-thrus, you are guaranteed to come away feeling lighter from the property tax drive-thru.

If you want to skip the drive-thru altogether, you can still get the early bird discount other ways:

• Pay online at www.sarasotataxcollector.com by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.
• Regular mail with a check postmarked by Friday, Nov. 30. Send to 101 S. Washington Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34236.
• 24-hour drop box. Deposit your check by 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the Adams Lane entrance of the Terrace Building in downtown Sarasota or at the main entrance of the Mid-County location and at the right to the main entrance of the Administration Building in Venice facing U.S. 41.
• In person in North Port. Show up on Nov. 28 at City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All forms of payment will be accepted.
• On Friday Nov. 30, only checks will be accepted in the drop box of the Supervisor of Elections Office at Biscayne Plaza from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
