Sarasota's 5 Things To Know: Patch RV Rolling With Giveaways
Donate canned goods to Feeding America Tampa Bay at the following events to enter for a chance to win awesome prizes.

1. Patch is stepping up its effort to get folks to , which serves Sarasota County food banks and ones throughout the region.
We're bringing in a 31-foot Patch RV to events throughout Sarasota where you can donate canned goods, and for doing so, we're giving away some awesome prizes in our raffles. (By the way, we're still putting the finishing touches on this monster. The RV pictured is similar but smaller.)

• Patch Give-A-Ton Food Drive April 27 5 to 7 p.m. at . Donate canned good/non-perishible food or sign up for Patch newsletter and receive coupon for free chips and medium drink with purchase of medium or large sub at Firehouse Subs. Limit 1 per person. Also raffling off gift card to Firehouse Subs.
• Free Lunch On Patch At Ringling Picnic April 30 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ringling Boulevard and Links Avenue. Donate canned good/non-perishibile food or sign up for Patch newsletter and be entered to win one of two free lunches at a Ringling Picnic food truck of your choice. So far Baja Boys and Flying Sliders are scheduled to be there. Food trucks will start firing up the grills at 11 a.m., but we'll be there early to accept donations.

• Patch Give-A-Ton Food Drive Blowout April 30 3 to 8 p.m. at . Live music, free pizza (while supplies last), art and more. Donate canned good/non-perishibile food or sign up for Patch newsletter and be entered to win $50 gift card to Best Buy, $25 in gift certificates to Coffee Loft, $25 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings and more.
Even if you don't win, you'll help out a great cause, plus we're still giving away some awesome Patch swag at these events. Stay tuned because more details will be added to the Food Drive Blowout at the Coffee Loft and other events are in the works!

The festival is running a special where if you buy a ticket to the Filmmakers Luncheon, noon Friday at the Sarasota Yacht Club, you will receive a complimentary ticket to the "In Conversation" session with honore Penelope Ann Miller, which will be 1 p.m., Saturday at . The luncheon costs $100.
5. You might want to tune into the National Geographic Channel this season catch a glimpse of Sarasota's Amish and Mennotite community Pinecraft.
NatGeo was here during Thanksgiving to film for its 10-part documentary, Amish: Out of Order. Pinecraft is expected to appear in at least two episodes. The series follows the lives of Amish and ex-Amish teens and twentysomethings challenges and triumphs in deciding whether to stay with their Amish beliefs and ways or depart and potentially be shunned by their community or family.
NatGeo is channel 276 on DirecTV, 109 on Comcast, 621 on Verizon HD and 360 on Bright House for those in North Sarasota and Manatee County.
