Sarasota Home Sale Prices Jump

As U.S. home prices rise, the Sarasota Association of Realtors report a 20 percent spike in median home sale prices in March.

The Sarasota Association of Realtors is reporting that the median home sale price jumped by 20 percent in March to $210,000, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The year-over-year increase in sale prices of single family homes sold by members of the Sarasota Association of Realtors mirrors a national rise.

Overall, U.S. home prices were up by 9.3 percent in February over February 2012. Southwest Florida had a similar increase for the time period, the Herald-Tribune reports.

There are more buyers going into the market with a limited inventory,  according to analysts.

Roger Piro, of Town and Country Real Estate in Myakka City, told the Herald-Tribune that homes priced under $300,000 are moving fastest.
