Sarasota Social Media Threat Brings Heightened Security To School
Police would not reveal what the message said.

SARASOTA, FL — Police were on high alert Friday at Sarasota High after a student's threatening Snapchat message raised alarms.
The student who received the threatening message brought it to teachers who alerted law enforcement. Police said that they tracked down the sender, a "young girl," and they spoke to her and her parents. After the discussion, police said that they did not have any reason to believe there was any threat to the school.
However, the police decided send additional officers to school on Friday out of an "abundance of caution."
