Sarasota Woman, 32, Dies After Crash
A 32-year-old Sarasota woman critically injured in an Aug. 3 crash has died from her injuries.

SARASOTA, FL — As the Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate an Aug. 3 injury crash in Palmetto, the agency has announced that one of the motorists involved has died from her injuries. Troopers say Florella Price, 32, of Sarasota died on Aug. 5.
The crash that led to Price’s death occurred just before 7 p.m. Aug. 3. Troopers say Price was driving a Saturn westbound on 97th Street, west of 115th Avenue East, in the Palmetto area. At that time, Jacklyn Rodriguez, 17, of Palmetto was heading east on 97th Street.

For unknown reasons, Price’s Saturn went off the road and onto the north shoulder. Troopers say she over-corrected, which caused her vehicle to rotate into the eastbound lane. When that happened, Rodriguez’s Mitsubishi hit the Saturn, a highway patrol report said.
Rodriguez and her passenger Lizabeth Rodriguez, 18, both suffered serious injuries in the crash.
