A Sarasota woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning when her car was struck by oncoming traffic as she tried to get onto Interstate 75 at Bee Ridge Road.
Investigators say Patty Jo Denney, 47, was headed west on Bee Ridge around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday when she attempted to make a left turn to get onto I-75 South. There was a steady yellow light in both directions on Bee Ridge getting onto I-75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
When Denney turned left in front of oncoming traffic, the front of her Honda Civic was struck by a Lexus coming from the opposite direction.
