Sheriff's Office: 26-Year-Old Admits To 2 Robberies

Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says that Christopher York, 26, admitted to his involvement in the Pak Mail and Synovus Bank robberies that happened in February.

Sarasota sheriff's detectives say a 26-year-old Sarasota man admitted to his involvement Thursday in two robberies that happened less than two weeks apart in February.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested Christopher York of 4314 Eastern Parkway, Sarasota, in connection with the two armed robberies last month.

However, when detectives went to a home near the bank to follow-up on a tip, they saw the helmet and backpack from the Pak Mail robbery in plain view and obtained a search warrant for the remainder of the residence, according to the sheriff's office. Detectives recovered evidence at the home located at 2019 LaSalle St., of both crimes including the weapon that had been used.

York admitted to his involvement in the crimes and was charged with two counts of armed Robbery with a firearm, according to the probable cause affadavit. He was booked into the Sarasota County Jail Thursday afternoon and is currently being held without bond.
