Suspect Arrested in Connection with Siesta Key Home Invasion
The suspect was arrested Tuesday but the investigation into the robbery continues.

A suspect in connection with a Dec. 6 Siesta Key home invasion was arrested today. Ashley Clarke, 22, was wanted in connection with a home invasion robbery on Siesta Key and is now in custody, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office press release.
She was arrested Tuesday near Dr Martin Luther King Way and Orange Avenue in Sarasota on the warrant for Principal to Home Invasion Robbery, the release said.
According to a Sheriff's Office release, deputies responded to 5657 Midnight Pass Road on Dec. 6 after the victim reported that a man wearing all black had entered his home and demanded money. As the suspect fled the scene he fired a shot toward the victim but the victim was not injured, the release said.

Before the arrest, the Sheriff's Office said detectives had determined that Clarke set up the robbery, calling the victim shortly before the incident occurred. She was also present outside the residence during the robbery.
