Tornado Warning Expires For Myakka City Area

National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for northeastern Sarasota County and southeastern Manatee County until 2 p.m.

Update: A tornado warning for northeastern Sarasota County and southeastern Manatee County has expired.

A National Weather Service radar spotted a tornadic cell near Myakka City, moving north at 35 mph around 1:39 p.m.

The Weather Service still advises that "small, brief tornados" are possible from this system associated with Tropical Storm Isaac.
