TS Isaac Won't Stop Sarasota GOP Donald Trump Event
Trump will not participate in Republican National Convention events and will fly to New York immediately after his Sarasota appearance.

Tropical Storm Isaac will just have to battle it out with Hurricane Donald.
Donald Trump is still scheduled to appear at the Sunday evening, according to the Republican Party of Sarasota County.
The is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, as the eye of the storm will be over the Florida Keys, but its reach will extend well into Florida as the system rotates.

“This is one of the largest crowds ever to come together for a dinner in the history of Sarasota and one of the largest ticketed events during the entire Convention week, and the event will go on as planned," Sarasota GOP Chairman Joe Gruters said in a statement. "We look forward to having one of the world’s most powerful and influential persons flying in to make this event even as Hurricane Isaac threatens the Gulf Coast."
Following the event, Trump will immediately fly back to New York and not participate in Republican National Convention events, which had some of its Monday events canceled.

Isaac is expected to reach Category 1 strength overnight Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Tampa will see the greatest hit from Isaac Monday night into Tuesday, according to AccuWeather.com.
The Statesman of the Year award is given each year by the Sarasota Republican club and also serves as a fundraiser.
