Village On The Isle Golf Classic Raises $108,000 to support Foundation

Village On The Isle (VOTI), a nonprofit Life Plan Community in Venice, raised $108,000 to support the Village On The Isle Foundation at its 6th Annual Golf Classic. The tournament was held on April 14 at The Founders Club in Sarasota.

The VOTI Golf Classic supports the Foundation, which raises funds exclusively for the programs of VOTI and its residents. Clancy & Theys served as the presenting sponsor of the Golf Classic and donated $25,000 to the Foundation.

“We are so grateful to our sponsors and to everyone who attended the Annual Golf Classic and made it a success,” said Doug Feller, CEO at Village On The Isle. “This year was a standout year, and we are thrilled to have raised more than $100,000 to support the mission of the Foundation and the care and enjoyment of our residents.”

Run by the VOTI Board, the Foundation provides financial support for resident programs, mission-oriented care programs, residents and staff education, and the benevolence fund that supports residents and clergy members.

“We guarantee that we will care for our residents for the rest of their life,” said Feller. “Thanks to the support of our donors and the amazing work of the Foundation, our residents will never be asked to leave should they run out of funds at no fault of their own.”

As a Life Plan Community, VOTI conducts a medical and financial analysis prior to residents’ move in. In some cases, residents may outlive their funds or incur unexpected medical costs that exhaust their funds. The Foundation provides financial support to these residents for the remainder of their time at Village On the Isle. In addition, it helps fund the expenses of residents who are retired clergy members and have served more than 20 years in ministry.

Village On the Isle is a nonprofit Life Plan Community affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The community follows the Greenhouse model of senior living in its assisted living and memory care communities that emphasizes a home-like environment where residents are empowered with autonomy and choice.
