Gun Brought On Campus Of Tampa High School Leads To Student's Arrest

An 18-year-old Hillsborough High School student was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bringing a gun on campus in his backpack.

TAMPA, FL — An 18-year-old Hillsborough High School student was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bringing a gun on campus in his backpack.

Police said the school resource officer assigned to Hillsborough High School, 5000 Central Ave., Tampa, was tipped off that a student had a gun with him. The resource officer located Ford in the gym and brought him to the school office where he admitted to having a gun in his backpack, according to the police report.

He was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Accessment Center. The student never threatened anyone with the gun, added police.
