HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 17-year-old boy was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash that left a victim with serious injuries, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release

The teen was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injuries, the agency said.

Though HCSO named the teen, it’s Patch policy not to name minors accused of a crime unless they’ve been charged as an adult. It’s unknown whether he has been charged as a juvenile or an adult.

"Thanks to the hard work of our deputies, this suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody. Anyone who thinks they can flee the scene of a crash and escape responsibility should think again," Sheriff Chad Chronister said.
