2 Men Charged In Shooting On Dale Mabry In Tampa That Injured 2
The Tampa Police Department arrested two men accused of shooting two people on North Dale Mabry Highway last week.
TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department arrested two men accused of shooting two people on North Dale Mabry Highway last week.
According to police, around 9 p.m. on April 27, two men followed the victims in their vehicle from West Boy Scout Boulevard to the 1700 block of North Dale Mabry Highway near Interstate 275.
When the victims' vehicle stopped at a red light, the two men following them fired multiple rounds into the victims' car, striking two of the four occupants.

The shooters then fled the scene.
One person was treated at the hospital and released. The other remains in the hospital in serious condition.

During their investigation, detectives discovered this was a targeted shooting and identified the shooters as Jaquone Penny, 26, and Myron Griffin, 23. Both were arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated attempted murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and shooting into a vehicle.
Griffin also faces a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
"These suspects put not only the lives of their victims in danger but also all those who were traveling on this always-busy roadway," said interim Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw. "I applaud the diligent work of our detectives to get these two off our streets and they are working to identify any other possible persons of interest in this case. I urge anyone who may have seen or heard something related to the shooting to please come forward with that information."
