22 Child Porn Images Found On Tampa Charter School Janitor: Sheriff

Hillsborough sheriff's detectives have arrested a custodian at a charter school in Tampa after finding numerous images of child pornography.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives have arrested a custodian at a charter school in Tampa after finding numerous images of child pornography in his possession.

On Monday, detectives received information that led them to a home in the Riverview area where they made contact with Mark Jordan, 44, who admitted to creating and possessing numerous computer-generated child pornography images. He also admitted to deleting evidence from his cell phone while en route back to his home to speak to detectives.

Jordan was employed as a custodian at IDEA Victory Public School at 11612 N. Nebraska Ave. in Tampa. He has since been fired.

"It is a reprehensible betrayal of trust that someone employed to ensure the safety and work with children at a school would engage in such repugnant behavior," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We will not rest until every corner of our community is free from the reach of those who seek to harm our most vulnerable."

Jordan faces the following charges:

  • 22 counts of possession of child pornography, 10 or more images and content of images
  • One count of unlawful use of a two-way communications device
  • One count of tampering with physical evidence.

At this point in the investigation, sheriff's detectives do not have reason to believe any children at the school were victimized.
