3 FL Airports Rank Among Best In North America
While traveling can be chaotic, three Florida airports were named among North America's top large and medium airports.
TAMPA, FL — Three Florida airports were just named as some of the best in North America in JD Power's 2024 North American Airport Satisfaction Survey.
According to the survey, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, is the best large airport in the nation, thanks to its ease of use and terminal facilities, while Tampa International Airport ranks second.
The "large airport" category includes airports that see between 10 and 32.9 million passengers per year. Also ranked in the category are Kansas City International Airport, which ranked No. 3, and Dallas Love Field, which ranked No. 4.

Other Florida airports earned high placements in the mega and medium-sized categories, according to the survey.
In the "mega airport" category, for airports that receive 33+ million passengers per year, Orlando International Airport ranked No. 8; Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport placed No. 9; and Miami International Airport was No. 11.

For medium airports, which see between 4.5 to 9.9 million passengers per year, Jacksonville International Airport ranked second; Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers ranked third; and Palm Beach International Airport placed No. 7.
The survey ranked the airports based on customer satisfaction scores that factor in ease of travel, level of trust, terminal facilities, airport staff and more.
