3 Men Charged In January Tampa Homicide; Remain In Jail With No Bond
Tampa police arrived to find a man in his mid-20s laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.
TAMPA, FL — Three men remain in the Falkenburg Road Jail without bail after being charged in a shooting on Jan. 31 that left one man dead.
Officers responded to the area of North 24th Street and Ybor Street for a report of gunshots detected in the area. They arrived to find a man in his mid-20s laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Detectives have been speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence in the case. Using eyewitness statements, vehicle GPS data, cellular location data and video surveillance, detectives were able to arrest and charge Cornelious Mack Jr., 28, of Tampa with first-degree murder, Waltonio S. McFadden, 22, of Temple Terrace with principal in the first-degree murder and Santonio M. Simmons, 47, of Riverview with tampering with physical evidence related to a felony.
