HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will open two temporary town hall sites and one mobile disaster recovery center this week to offer assistance to individuals, families and businesses impacted by Hurricane Idalia.

The mobile disaster recovery Center will open Monday at DeSoto Park Trail Roundabout, 2617 Corinne St., Tampa. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, through Monday, Nov. 20, and on the weekend of Nov. 18 and 19.

A town hall site will be open at Town 'N' Country Regional Public Library Community Rooms A and B, 7606 Paula Drive, Suite 120, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The second town hall site will open Friday, Nov. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Firehouse Cultural Center, 101 1st Ave NE, Ruskin.

All locations are open to individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits seeking assistance or needing help in completing applications after being impacted by Hurricane Idalia.

FEMA representatives who can help with individual and hazard-mitigation assistance will attend.

FEMA, Veterans Affairs and the Small Business Administration will be there to assist. In addition, representatives with legal services and housing assistance will be on-site to help answer questions and assist with applications. FEMA will also be able to connect applicants to additional resources.

Hillsborough County residential property owners and renters whose homes sustained damage and losses from Hurricane Idalia can still apply for FEMA assistance online until Nov. 29. To apply for FEMA disaster assistance, click here, use the FEMA app for smartphones, or call (800) 621-3362. Phone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.

The assistance could include financial help for temporary lodging, basic home repairs and other disaster-related expenses.
