Shooting Victim Walked Into Tampa Convenience Store After Being Shot: Sheriff
A fatal shooting victim went into a Tampa convenience store asking for help before his death, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
TAMPA, FL — A man with a gunshot wound died after walking into a Tampa convenience store to ask for help on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Dispatchers received a call about the shooting victim wandering into the Stop N Save Food Store at 4801 Clewis Ave. around 11:30 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
He was brought to Tampa General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Around noon, a person claiming to be the shooter called 911, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies found and detained him not far from the shooting site.
“This type of violence has no place in our community,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “We remain fully committed to keeping our residents safe and will continue working tirelessly to do so.”
