3 New Year's Shootings Investigated In Tampa Area: Officials

A man was fatally killed in Wednesday shooting, while a teenage girl and a security guard were shot in two separate incidents, police said.

TAMPA, FL — Three New Year’s shootings are under investigation in the Tampa area, officials said.

A man was fatally shot outside Tally Ho Bar Lounge & Grill, 7402 N. 56th Street in Tampa, on Wednesday around 1:45 a.m., according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The victim was brought to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A security guard was also injured in a shooting during a New Year’s Eve music festival Tuesday around 10:45 p.m., according to a Tampa Police Department news release.

Officers found the security guard, a man in his late 30s, was shot while staff removed a crowd of people from the property. He was brought to a hospital in stable condition.

A girl in her mid-teens was shot and found with non-life-threatening injuries near N. Tampa Street and E. Cass Street on Wednesday just after 1 a.m., police said. Investigators are looking into what led up to the shooting.
