4 Killed In Fatal Ybor City Crash Identified By Tampa Police: Reports
The fatal crash into Bradley's on 7th in Ybor City left four people dead and 13 injured, Tampa police said.

TAMPA, FL — The four people killed after a speeding driver plowed into the patio of a busy Ybor City bar early Saturday morning have been identified by Tampa police, according to multiple reports.
The driver, 22-year-old Silas Sampson, crashed into Bradley’s on 7th, which is in the 1500 block of East 7th Avenue, just seconds after being chased by state troopers in the area of Palm Avenue and Nebraska Avenue around 12:45 a.m. He rammed into more than a dozen people outside the bar.
Those killed in the crash were Marlon Anthony Collins, 54, of Bartow; Sherman Jones, 53, of Tampa; Lisa Sherell Johnson, 41, of Winter Haven; and Kristina Maria Richards, 25, of Ohio, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

After he was taken into custody, he told police he’d “made a mistake” and asked how many people were killed in the crash, according to the Times.
Richard Atwell, who survived the crash, spoke at a vigil outside Bradley’s on Saturday evening, just after he was released from the hospital, Fox 13 reported.
"He [Sampson] took good people away from their families, and he's hurt so many other people," Atwell said. "Just because someone hurts us, just because someone's negligent or selfish, that's not an excuse to be upset or mad."
City leaders and Ybor City business owners are discussing closing 7th Avenue, the historic district’s main artery, to vehicle traffic, Bay News 9 reported.
"We are going to be talking to the community and the appropriate professionals on additional steps that we can to make sure that something like this doesn't ever happen again, and so that we can take further steps to protect folks on 7th Avenue," Tampa City Council member Louis Viera said.
