6 Children Injured in Early Morning Crash On I-75; Driver Killed
The children were taken to a Tampa hospital with various injuries Sunday morning when a tire on an SUV blew out, causing the crash.

APOLLO BEACH, FL - Six children were taken to a Tampa hospital with injuries Sunday morning when a tire on an SUV blew out, causing a crash on southbound I-75 in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The driver of the SUV was killed in the crash, FHP reported.
The crash occurred about 8 a.m. Sunday near Big Bend Road. Authorities shut down the southbound lanes after the crash, but they have now reopened. When the tire blew out, the driver lost control and the SUV rolled over on its side. The driver and children were ejected from the vehicle, authorities said.
