8 Jesuit Seniors Sign Letters of Intent
Five Tigers signed to play collegiate baseball while three signed to play lacrosse.
TAMPA, FL – Eight student athletes from Jesuit High School signed Letters of intent to play baseball or lacrosse at the collegiate level.
The school hosted a signing ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in the President’s Board Room. Family, friends and coaches gathered to support the following Tigers:
- Jack Anderson, baseball, Florida State University
- Joel Brewer, baseball, University of South Carolina
- Seth Cashen, lacrosse, Bellarmine University
- Robert Hales, baseball, Spalding University
- Chris Jennings, lacrosse, Lynchburg College
- Everett Lee, baseball, Wesleyan University
- Jake Lemon, lacrosse, Canisius College
- McGuire Weaver, baseball, Florida State University
“It’s always a great day when we get to see the young men in our program who work so hard see the fruits of their labor rewarded,” said Jesuit baseball coach Miguel Menendez. “It’s a testament to the hard work they have put in over the years and the sacrifices they have made.”

The five baseball players helped Jesuit advance to the 5A State championship game and helped capture the Saladino Tournament title last season. Anderson pitched a shutout in the state semifinal and Weaver was the team’s leading hitter with a .400 batting average. The pair join fellow Tigers Ronnie Ramirez and Clayton Kwiatkowski in the powerhouse FSU baseball program.
Brewer, who had a .391 batting average and a team-high 16 stolen bases in 2017, is also signing with a perennial powerhouse Gamecocks program that won the College World Series in 2010 and 2011.

“A guy like Everett Lee, who has endured so much with injuries, to be able to sign with a prestigious school such as Wesleyan; and Robert Hales, who has worked so hard and improved every year, to be able to sign with Spalding – these are moments you live for as a coach,” Menendez said.
Jesuit is finally seeing the benefits of its lacrosse team going varsity six years ago. Lemon was named the Spectrum Sports 2017 Player of the Year for the Tampa Bay area, scoring 46 goals in 17 games. Cashen has excelled as a standout defender, while Jennings is a multi-sport star who also earned five medals at the State swim meet last week, including a team gold. The Jesuit lacrosse team earned a 14-3 record last season.
This is the first of four college signing days set for the 2017-18 school year. Jesuit is planning ceremonies for the February and April signing days. As of right now, the school is not planning a ceremony for the new football-only early signing date on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
