- Aldi is expanding in South Tampa to a new 22,000-square-foot space at 213 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Aldi now has over five locations in the Tampa area and is well-known for great prices and a generous return program. No opening date is available at this time. (That's So Tampa)
- University of South Florida (USF) football player, Michel Dukes, has been arrested on a domestic violence charge, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Police said a verbal argument occured between Dukes and the victim. HCSO said Dukes is an active student at USF and on the football team roster. (Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office)
- The two-year-old daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett tragically drowned after she fell into a swimming pool in Tampa on Sunday. Emergency efforts were unsuccesful. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released a statement on Twitter with their condolences. (WFLA)
- The Tampa Bay Lightning were defeated and eliminated by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday in overtime 2-1. The Lightning were Stanley Cup champions in 2020 and 2021, but loss the title last year. (WUSF)
- Hillsborough County is alerted residents that if they are ineligible for Medicaid under new rules being passed by Florida, they may still be eligible for the county's free insurance program. Hillsborough Health Care is offered to residents with limited income and assets who do not qualify for other health care coverage. (ABC Action News)
