Applications Now Being Accepted at Hillsborough County Head Start Program

Hillsborough County Head Start encourages families to apply for the program quickly.

Hillsborough County, FL – Head Start is enrolling children ages 3 or 4. The program can accommodate students residing throughout Hillsborough County, including those in the vicinity of:

  • Robles Park, 3814 N. Central Ave. in Tampa
  • West Tampa, 1129 W. Main St. in Tampa
  • Nye Park, 630 Sunset Lane in Lutz
  • R-Club Telecom Head Start, 12420 Telecom Drive

In Hillsborough County, all Head Start classes use the same Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) curriculum in addition to the Head Start Early Childhood Framework.

All services are free to those who qualify. Applicants are urged to apply quickly.

Head Start provides early childhood development and education, medical, dental, and mental health services, and family support services for qualifying low-income families with children ages 0 to 5.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are employed at least 20 hours per week or enrolled in school/job training
  • Are homeless
  • Are a custodian for a foster child
  • Are a military family
  • Receive public assistance
  • Meet the federal poverty guidelines
  • Have a child who has been diagnosed with autism, impaired hearing, intellectual disability, orthopedic impairment, delayed development, speech/language impairment, or any other condition affecting the child’s ability to learn.
