Arrest Made In Homicide Of Man At Beck Apartments In Tampa
Tampa police have arrested 28-year-old Richard Lam and charged him with murdering a man in his early 50s and then stealing his car.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police detectives have arrested 28-year-old Richard Lam and charged him with murdering a man in his early 50s and then stealing his car, according to police.
On the afternoon of May 1, Tampa police responded to a report from a maintenance worker who found a man dead of upper-body trauma inside an apartment at the Beck at Hidden River apartments, 8801 Hidden River Parkway.
Surveillance footage collected during the investigation showed Lam near the apartment at the time of the homicide and fingerprints found at the scene were identified as belonging to Lam.

Police said Lam and the dead man were acquainted.
On May 2, the victim's vehicle was found in West Palm Beach County. The Tampa Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Unit was able to determine Lam's location and, working closely with partners from the U.S. Marshals Service, officers were able to apprehend and arrest Lam on Monday morning.

Lam was charged with murder and grand theft of a motor vehicle. He is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Dade County.
