Arrest Made In Homicide On Okara Road In Tampa
Police arrested Lazaro Martinez Basilio Rojas who was found hiding at the scene of the crime.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police arrested 26-year-old Lazaro Martinez Basilio Rojas and charged him with first-degree murder in connection to the homicide that occurred on Nov. 7 in the 2700 block of East Okara Road.
On Nov. 10 at 2:11 p.m., Tampa police and Tampa Fire Rescue conducted a welfare check around the 2700 block of East Okara Road.
Upon arrival, fire rescue discovered a man in his mid-50s dead and wrapped in a blanket.

Officers found Martinez Basilio Rojas, hiding under a couch in the living room. Police said Martinez was having a medical problem and they took him to the hospital to be treated for severe dehydration.
Tampa police detectives worked overnight to gather leads in the investigation and interview witnesses. They determined Martinez and the victim were involved in a verbal fight on Nov. 7, which led to Martinez attacking the victim.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
