The Art Of The Brick Ends Free Run Soon
Time is running out for people to take in Nathan Sawaya's Lego art for free in downtown Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who want to take in Nathan Sawaya’s masterpieces made entirely from Legos will need to act fast. The Art of the Brick is scheduled to end its Tampa run on Sept. 4.
Brought to downtown Tampa in June courtesy of the Vinik Family Foundation, the exhibit features artworks crafted from the colorful building blocks. It is being housed at 802 E. Whiting St. with regularly scheduled free viewings open to the public. The exhibit boasts more than 100 pieces of art, including Sawaya’s renditions of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” and Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” There’s also a giant, 20-foot-long T-rex.

Offering a hands-on experience, too, the exhibit features an area called The Brickyard. Here visitors can build their own creations out of Legos.
“It has been incredible to see so many guests enjoy this exciting exhibit,” said Jeff and Penny Vinik. “Each day, more members of the Tampa Bay community will continue to be inspired by Nathan’s unique artworks. Our hope is that in its final weeks, the Tampa Bay community will visit The Art Of The Brick and continue to be inspired by these remarkable sculptures.”
