Attorney: Parents Of Seminole Heights Suspect 'Heartbroken'

TAMPA, FL - Tampa attorney Ralph Fernandez says the parents of accused Seminole Heights serial killer Howell "Trai" Donaldson III are "heartbroken" over the news of their son's arrest. Fernandez, who represents the parents, said they knew nothing about their son being a suspect in the murders.

Donaldson's family gave an interview to News Channel 8 on Friday. They have not seen their son since his arrest.

“Our hearts are heavy as their hearts are heavy,” Donaldson’s father said of the four victims’ families. “We’re a people of faith and we’re going to lean on our faith as we go through this ordeal.”

Trai Donaldson is currently being represented by the public defenders office as he faces four charges of first-degree murder.

“It’s sad, it’s taxing, it’s a combination of just about everything rough you can imagine. They support their son, they love their son. At the same time they extend their condolences to everyone,” Fernandez said.
