Boater Rescued After Vessel Takes On Water In Tampa: Watch
A 71-year-old boater was rescued Monday night from a disabled vessel taking on water near William Park in Tampa, HCSO said.

TAMPA, FL — A 71-year-old boater was rescued Monday night from a disabled vessel taking on water near William Park in Tampa, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch deputy bodycam footage of the rescue below.)
The agency’s Marine Unit responded to a distress call and found the boat near Spoil Island around 11 p.m.
A deputy waded through shallow waters to rescue the boater, who was showing signs of medical distress, the sheriff’s office said.

He was brought to the Williams Park Boat Ramp, where he was evaluated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
"I'm incredibly grateful that no injuries occurred during last night's rescue mission," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "This incident highlights the crucial importance of our units' quick actions and dedication to protecting and serving our community."
