- Salad restaurant concept sweetgreen will open its second location in the Tampa-area today in South Tampa's Hyde Park Village after a a successful opening in Tampa Heights. For every meal sold on opening day, sweetgreen will donate a meal to Feeding Tampa Bay to help battle food insecurity in Hillsborough County. (Tampa Patch)
- A family in Brandon was displaced on Monday after an attic fire consumed their home. Firefighters said they found "heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the front of the house." No one was injured in the incident. An investigation is underway to the cause of the fire. (WTSP)
- Pinellas County plastic surgeon Tomasz Roman Kosowski is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of attorney Steven Cozzi. The body of Cozzi has yet to be discovered. Surveillance footage allegedly shows Kosowski entering the building of Cozzi wearing a backpack and gloves and carrying a large box on the night of the disappearance. (WFLA)
- The upcoming Union New American restaurant concept from Next Level Brands is now taking reservations. Service will begin on Tuesday, April 4 at 5 p.m. at 1111 N Westshore Blvd. Annex B in the Westshore City Center. "Union New American is a full experience – an adult playground of sorts – where guests can conduct business during the day, close the workday with a cocktail at the bar, and progress into the evening hours, while embracing energetic lounge-vibes on our second-floor rooftop, terrace, and event space," said restaurateur Jeff Gigante in a statement. - Over 40 Tampa executives joined together last Friday to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County's second annual CEO Build. The executives built two affordable homes in the Forest Hills community in north Tampa. The build supported the homes of Tampa residents Tammy Bush-Jordan and Ada Adorno. (Tampa Patch)
