Cold Front Expected To Shake Up Tampa Bay Weather
Forecasters expect highs near 90 as Tampa Bay's week begins, but temperatures should drop to the 70s after a front moves through.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Bay area is in for a roller coaster of a week in the weather department. According to the National Weather Service, the week is expected to kick off with highs near 90 degrees before a cold front moves into the region to shake things up. By week’s end, temperatures are forecast to drop back down into the low 70s.
Monday is expected to start off the workweek with blistering conditions. Mostly sunny skies are anticipated with a high in the upper 80s. Forecasters say the humidity level should reach 100 percent with breezy conditions possible.
A cold front moving into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico on Monday is anticipated to create potentially hazardous conditions on waters as far south as the Tampa Bay area. With that in mind, a rip current warning has gone up for coastal areas throughout the region and a small craft advisory is expected, as well.

Rain chances are slight on Monday, but forecasters say there is a possibility thunderstorms will develop in some areas. Mostly clear overnight conditions with a low in the lower 70s are expected.

Tuesday is anticipated to bring mostly sunny conditions with a high once again in the upper 80s. Mostly clear overnight skies are forecast with a low in the lower 70s.
Wednesday is expected to be a day of change that will begin with sunny conditions and a high in the upper 80s. As the day progresses, forecasters anticipate winds will pick up throughout the region. Storm chances move into the area during the overnight hours with a low around 70 degrees forecast.
Storms that move into the region courtesy of the strong cold front expected to move in Wednesday night and into Thursday could bring gusty winds, locally heavy rain and frequent lighting strikes, forecasters warn. Small craft operators are also being warned that conditions may not be favorable for them as the front moves through.
Considering the anticipated storms, Thursday’s high is forecast to only reach the upper 70s. Things are expected to dry out in the overnight hours, but residents may notice a chill in the air. Mostly clear skies are forecast in the nighttime hours Thursday with a low only in the upper 50s.
Courtesy of that cold front, Friday is expected to bring a return of cooler conditions with a high only in the lower 70s forecast. Mostly sunny skies should highlight the day with clear skies expected in the overnight hours. The low again is anticipated to drop into the upper 50s.
Cooler conditions are expected to stick around into the weekend with gradual warming by Sunday.
